Our Story.
Our Purpose.
Our Farm.

From a single plot of land to one of Uganda's most integrated mixed farms — the Mukaro journey is one of vision, resilience, and deep love for the land.

Rooted in Uganda.
Built to Feed a Nation.

Mukaro Mixed Farm (U) Limited was founded with a singular conviction: that Uganda's land, when farmed with skill, care, and modern knowledge, can produce enough not only to feed its people — but to supply the world.

Today we operate as a fully integrated agricultural enterprise spanning crop production, livestock rearing, cattle keeping, coffee farming, and agricultural supply. Every branch of our operation is guided by a deep respect for the land and an unrelenting commitment to quality.

We don't just farm. We build food systems. We create livelihoods. We nurture the soil for the next generation. That is the Mukaro mission — and it drives every seed we plant and every animal we raise.

The Values That Guide Us

Everything we do is rooted in a clear set of principles — from how we treat the land, to how we treat each other and our customers.

01
Quality Without Compromise
Every product leaving Mukaro Farm meets strict quality benchmarks — consistent, fresh, and traceable from field to market. We never ship second-best.
02
Sustainable Stewardship
We farm for the long term. Soil health, water conservation, responsible input use, and biodiversity protection guide every planting and every harvest season.
03
Community Prosperity
Our farm employs hundreds of local workers, trains smallholder farmers, and contributes to the economic life of the communities that surround us.
04
Innovation & Learning
We invest in modern agronomy, new technologies, and ongoing training. Farming must evolve — and so do we, every single season.
05
Transparency & Trust
With buyers, with partners, with our workers — we operate openly and honestly. Trust is the foundation of every lasting agricultural relationship.
06
Ugandan Pride
We are proudly Ugandan. Our produce carries Uganda's name and reputation to markets near and far, and we take that responsibility seriously.

How We Grew — Year by Year

From a small family plot to an integrated agricultural enterprise — the Mukaro story is one of steady, purposeful growth.

Year 1
The First Planting
Mukaro Mixed Farm was established on a modest plot in Central Uganda. Our founders began with staple crop farming — maize and beans — supplying local markets and learning the land.
Year 3
Livestock Expansion
Poultry and goat farming were introduced, expanding our operation into animal husbandry. A small dairy herd was established, providing fresh milk to the surrounding communities.
Year 6
Cattle Programme Launched
Dedicated cattle keeping was formalised with the acquisition of Friesian and Ankole crossbreeds. A structured dairy and beef programme was established under veterinary oversight.
Year 9
Coffee & Export Ambitions
Coffee cultivation began in Uganda's highlands. Arabica and Robusta varieties were planted, and our first export-grade batches were prepared, catching the attention of specialty buyers.
Year 12
Supply Network & Incorporation
Mukaro Mixed Farm (U) Limited was officially incorporated. A regional supply network was established, connecting our farm directly to restaurants, supermarkets, and institutions in Kampala and beyond.
Today
A Fully Integrated Enterprise
Over 500 acres under cultivation. Multiple livestock programmes. A growing coffee export operation. And a network of partners that stretches across Uganda and internationally. The journey continues.

Farming That Respects Tomorrow

We believe that agricultural success and environmental stewardship are not in conflict — they are inseparable. Every decision we make considers the land, the water, the community, and the future farmer who will one day till this same soil.

Our sustainability programme includes crop rotation, composting, cover cropping, integrated pest management, and a water management system that reduces runoff and preserves groundwater in our region.
